Glossary: Krav Maga

Le Krav Maga est une méthode de combat créée en Israël par Imi Lichtenfeld.

Etymology

Krav [ˈkʁav], from the Hebrew קרב, means "combat," "battle," or "struggle."

It consists of the letters:
Kuf: the 19th letter of the alphabet: ק, Resh: the 20th letter of the alphabet: ר, and Bet/Vet: the 2nd letter of the alphabet: ב.

Maga [maˈɡa], from the Hebrew מגע, means “contact” or “touch.”

Il est composé des lettres :
Mem : 13ème lettre de l’alphabet : מ, Guimel : 3ème lettre de l’alphabet : ג, et Ayin : 16ème lettre de l’alphabet : ע.

Literally, Krav Maga translates to “combat with contact,” meaning close-quarters combat.
